Ukraine said it struck a pair of Russian oil refineries far behind the front lines on Sunday as President Vladimir Putin vowed to ramp up defenses.

The two attacks, in Volgograd and Vladimir regions, are part of President Zelenskyy's strategy to bring the war to the Russian people and force Putin into peace negotiations.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine's "long-range sanctions" (long-range strikes) hit two oil refineries in Russia on the night of 27-28 June.
