Justice Ngozika Nwabulu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja has convicted a Deputy Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Idris Barde, over a N4.55 million job racketeering scheme in which he falsely promised employment slots in the paramilitary agency. Barde, who previously served as Personal Assistant to former NSCDC Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana, was convicted after the court found him guilty of unlawfully collecting money from a job seeker under the guise of facilitating recruitment into the Corps.
