The 62-year-old broadcaster has been absent from his regular weekday 2-4pm slot on Radio 2 after being advised to undergo follow-up tests following a routine check-up. Nelson stated on Instagram that he is now concentrating on getting better, being back to 100 per cent me before he returns to his roles behind the microphone and decks. Despite his current break, listeners will be able to hear him present the pre-recorded “The Music Is Black” concert from Hackney Empire on BBC Radio 2 this Sunday night.
