'AI can change the whole tax system': Former NITI Aayog member on economic growth

Former NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani said manufacturing will be the key driver of India's economic growth over the next 10–15 years and called for a simpler, more predictable tax system, adding that artificial intelligence could "completely transform the whole tax system." He also said India should prioritize free trade agreements with complementary developed economies, particularly the European Union, arguing that such pacts would strengthen trusted supply chains and support manufacturing growth.
