Senior IPS officer Mahesh Dixit has been appointed as the new chief of the Intelligence Bureau, with the Prime Minister-led Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approving his elevation. A 1993-batch officer, Dixit, currently serving as Special Director, brings extensive experience from his previous role heading the State Intelligence Bureau in Jammu and Kashmir.
