Push past what you thought was possible with code layers, Figma Motion, shaders, generative plugins and Weave tools, all on the canvas.

Today, we’re announcing new ways your Weave creative workflows can live alongside your Figma frames.

Figma unveiled code layers, animation support, AI-generated shaders, custom skills for its AI assistant, and deeper Weavy integration at Config 2026.

You can also work directly with code on the Figma Design canvas, thanks to code layers.

Figma's update adds a new code layer, support for motion and shaders, and the ability to create custom plugins for various tasks using AI.
