Rio Ferdinand’s son has revealed that he initially “hated” his stepmother Kate Ferdinand and told his father lies about her when he was younger. Appearing on Kate’s Blended podcast, Tate, 18, said he initially struggled to accept his father’s new partner following the death of his mother, Rebecca, who died from breast cancer in 2015 aged 34. “I was just in a confused state of mind,” he explained, saying he acted out of “loyalty” towards his late mother. Kate also revealed that Tate once told Rio she had been “meeting random men on the drive” when she received a parcel from a delivery driver.
