From patient to practitioner: Joy Schoor's inspiring journey to becoming a doctor

In January 2016, 14-year-old Joy Schoor returned from a family holiday with what seemed like a standard fever, only to discover she was battling acute myeloid leukaemia. After a year of intense treatment, she is now a final-year medical student at Stellenbosch University, preparing to become a doctor and pay forward the extraordinary care she received during her illness.
