The pair admitted to drugging both men with GBL (Gamma-Butyrolactone), a substance commonly known as a date-rape drug, with the intention of stealing their property. Malcolm King was killed on 20 August 2024 at his home in Bagendon near Cirencester, while Gary Mouat died on 13 July 2025 at his residence in Banbury. Between 13 and 31 July 2024, Mihai and Dumitru also administered poison to two other men, who cannot be identified for legal reasons. The defendants changed their pleas at Oxford Crown Court, admitting to two counts of manslaughter and two counts of administering poison with intent to injure, and are currently awaiting sentencing.
