The warning will be in place until 9pm on Thursday. Record-breaking temperatures are anticipated, with a strong possibility of surpassing the UK’s hottest June temperature of 35.6C, set in 1976. Lauren Bennett from the RSPCA told BBC Breakfast that dogs should only be taken out briefly for toilet breaks in shaded areas.
