The survivor of a horrific shark attack in Coogee has woken from a coma after spending nearly two weeks in intensive care.

Leah Stewart, 35, was mauled by a great white shark while swimming at Coogee Beach, in Sydney's eastern suburbs, on June 13.

Leah Stewart has taken some positive first steps on a long-road to recovery. Meanwhile, another shark survivor has re-entered the water.
