The United States is set to finalise a proposed $230 million sustainment package for the Indian Army's M777A2 ultra-light howitzers, according to U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. The package includes spare parts, repairs, training, technical assistance and logistics support aimed at maintaining India's fleet of 145 M777 howitzers. The proposed deal, with BAE Systems as the principal contractor, marks another step in deepening India-US defence cooperation and strengthening military readiness.
