The Trump administration violated federal privacy protections when it overhauled a citizen data program so that it could be used more aggressively to purge voter rolls, a federal judge said Monday.

Tens of millions of voters have had their data run through the Trump administration's revamped SAVE tool. A judge just found it unlawful.

The database includes Americans’ Social Security numbers and information about their citizenship.
