China: 5,000m above sea level! Experience over 20-hour ride on the world's highest train line

The Qinghai-Xizang Railway opened to traffic in China. It crossed the Tanggula Pass at 5,072 meters above sea level, the highest point of any railway in the world. Departing from Xining, northwest China's Qinghai Province, the Qinghai-Xizang Railway takes passengers on a journey of more than 20 hours, covering nearly 2,000 kilometers. Along the way, passengers can gaze upon the majestic Tanggula Mountains and the vivid Cuona Lake; under favorable weather conditions, a double rainbow may even appear on the horizon. As the train travels westward and the altitude steadily climbs, the scenery gradually transforms from the vast and magnificent vistas around Qinghai Lake to a highland tapestry of snow-capped peaks, lakes, and grasslands. Throughout the entire route, trains bound for Xizang Autonomous Region provide a steady supply of oxygen, ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable journey on the plateau.
