Jon Snow’s wife shares ‘anger’ over Alzheimer’s diagnosis in heartbreaking admission

Jon Snow’s wife Dr Precious Lunga said she felt “anger” at people “writing off” her husband after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The former Channel 4 news presenter, 78, and the epidemiologist, 51, explore his diagnosis in a new Channel 4 documentary, Jon Snow: A Last Big Story. The programme shows Snow being told he has the form of dementia following a test. In one scene, Dr Lunga opens up about how she feels Snow’s health has changed. She added: “When we received a diagnosis, people were writing Jon off, and that's when I realised how stigmatised Alzheimer's is, and it made me so angry actually. “This is a progressive disease, but you can have Alzheimer's and still will be a valuable member of society to contribute.”
