Paint is peeling from Reflecting Pool days after Trump’s $14m ‘renovation’

Paint is peeling from the newly renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, as tourists declare that the $14m (£10m) was a “huge waste of money”. The six-week-long project saw the pool drained before having its resurface repainted in an “American flag blue”, as per the wishes of Donald Trump. Visiting the historic pool following the completion, some tourists were less than impressed as they inspected the peeling paint. “I want my money back. After seeing this. I think that it was a huge waste of money to begin with. And I think our resources could be used a lot better elsewhere, in a nutshell,” said one sightseer.
