SASKATOON - Global mining giant BHP says the second phase of its Jansen potash mine is expected to cost 40 per cent more than previously expected.

Problems at its Jansen mine have forced the company to book a $3.3 billion impairment, while its iron ore division is facing strike action in the Pilbara.
