Reliance Jio is evaluating the creation of a sovereign Indian Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation to deliver broadband connectivity across the country, particularly in remote and underserved regions. Speaking at Reliance Industries' AGM, Akash Ambani said satellite connectivity will become a key pillar of Jio's future growth alongside 5G, AI, cloud and digital infrastructure. The company also plans to build satellite ground station infrastructure in India, strengthening digital sovereignty and expanding access to high-speed internet nationwide.
