LONDON: Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, emir of Qatar, for his country’s efforts in mediating a pivotal interim agreement with the US that brought an end to more than 100 days of conflict in the Middle East. Pezeshkian said that he appreciated Qatar’s role in promoting de-escalation in the region and global stability, according to Qatar News Agency. Sheikh Tamim reaffirmed Qatar’s strong support for diplomacy in resolving disputes. He expressed hope that the Iran-US interim agreement would enhance long-term regional and international peace.
