Vice president’s joke appeared to fall flat in the room

Vice President JD Vance spoke to ABC News' "Good Morning America" on Monday.

VP JD Vance says the US expects Israel to back the new US-Iran memorandum once verification details emerge, as oil prices drop on Strait of Hormuz news.

Vance, a former Marine, has long been considered one of the more dovish voices in President Donald Trump's inner circle.

Vice President JD Vance defended President Donald Trump’s approach to Iran, saying, “people confuse the ends with the means.”

"This way, if it works out, I'm going to take the credit," Trump said. "If it doesn't work out, I'm blaming JD."

The opportunity for Vance is that ending the war and shifting the focus back to domestic issues is what’s best for the GOP.
