President William Ruto has declared that Africa will no longer engage with wealthy countries on terms of dependency, calling instead for partnerships built on sovereign equality and mutual benefit.

Ruto regretted that Africa was not at the table when some of the financial and governance institutions were set up after the Second World War in 1945.

President Ruto uses key forum to root for continent’s economic prospects. He says Africa should also be involved in crafting rules for AI and emerging tech.
