The Calcutta High Court has refused an interim order regarding the appointment of Ritabrata Banerjee as Leader of Opposition. TMC MLA Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay challenged the Speaker's decision. The court will hear the matter again on July 28. Respondents must file affidavits within three weeks. The breakaway group claims support from 58 TMC MLAs.
