The World Bank Group and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have announced that their joint initiative Mission 300 has connected over 50-million people to electricity across 40 countries – a major milestone toward the initiative's goal of reaching 300-million people by 2030. Launched in 2024, the initiative is supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet and Sustainable Energy for All, as well as a coalition of governments, development institutions and private sector partners.
