The party warned that failure to act could lead to a repeat of the deadly xenophobic violence seen in 2008 and called on security committees to coordinate a national response. President Cyril Ramaphosa has also condemned violence and intimidation targeting foreign nationals, stressing that criminality cannot be justified by concerns over immigration.
