Assad general wanted for human rights violations arrested
DAMASCUS: Syria’s Interior Ministry announced on Friday the arrest of a senior Assad intelligence official involved in violations committed against the Syrian people. The ministry said Qais Hassan al-Abd al-Rajab, a former brigadier general who served as deputy director of the General Intelligence Directorate (State Security), was arrested by the Counterterrorism Directorate following extensive efforts to track his movements.
