The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has released draft rules to bring television, radio, DTH, HITS, and IPTV services under the Telecommunications Act, 2023. These proposed rules aim to simplify and harmonize the existing broadcasting regime, promoting ease of business. Broadcasters will need to ensure continuous channel operations and preserve programme recordings for monitoring.
