US carbon transformation company Twelve has opened what it says is the first commercial-scale power-to-liquid sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in the US, a facility in Moses Lake, Washington, designed to produce about 50,000 gallons (189,000 l) of synthetic jet fuel annually from captured carbon dioxide, water and renewable electricity.
