A viral clip from a stand-up comedy show in Gurugram has sparked controversy, prompting the National Commission for Women to take suo motu cognisance and issue notices to comedian Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the Constitution guarantees freedom of expression but also provides safeguards against its misuse, adding that public expression should respect individual dignity and social boundaries.According to media reports, a Gurugram-based company has also terminated Himanshu Jangra following the controversy. The NCW has summoned both Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra to appear before the Commission on June 22.
