The remains of Amada Mia Brown were spotted Thursday morning after the search lasted more than 30 hours and covered more than 90 square miles

The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted that the girl had been struck by a wave Tuesday evening. Her mother and sibling made it to safety with help from bystanders.

The 5-year-old was in the water with their mother and sibling when they got swept into the ocean during “powerful water conditions,” officials have said.
