Delhi government mulls mandatory fire safety norms for low-rise residential buildings

Delhi government is looking at making fire safety devices like smoke detectors and extinguishers compulsory in smaller homes. This move follows recent fire incidents that caused many deaths. Currently, these safety measures are mainly for tall buildings. The Delhi Fire Service also wants all homes to have basic fire safety equipment. A plan for older buildings is also being considered.
