The man who killed former Minnesota Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and seriously injuring another lawmaker and his wife, has changed his plea after agreeing to a deal with federal prosecutors.

Federal prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against Vance Boelter, the man charged with killing state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark.

The defendant, Vance Boelter, was scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing Thursday morning in federal court in Minneapolis.
