Maguire was caught driving his Range Rover at 37mph in a 30mph zone in Altringham, an incident that occurred as his England teammates travelled for World Cup preparations. Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Altay Bayindir was also fined £666 and given three penalty points for driving at 41mph in a 30mph zone in Hale Barns last November. Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha faces charges for speeding at 37mph on the same stretch of road as Bayindir and for failing to respond to police requests to identify the driver. All three Manchester United players had their cases handled privately last week, with Cunha's case scheduled for a further hearing in December where a driving disqualification will be considered.
