U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) celebrated his victory in the Republican primary on Tuesday by praising God — and President Donald Trump. Graham fended off his primary challenger, Mark Lynch, a self-described “America First” candidate, during Tuesday’s election. Graham, who was endorsed by Trump, began his victory speech by thanking God, his family and the president for helping him secure the GOP nomination. “I want to thank the big guy, God, Trump comes later. Mr. President, you’re not far behind God, but we’re going to start with him,” Graham told the audience.

Graham spent millions to defeat a primary opponent, NBC News projects, after receiving President Donald Trump’s endorsement last year.
