A baby miraculously survived after it was thrown from a car during a high-speed police chase. On 24 May, an Arkansas State Police officer unsuccessfully attempted to stop a 2012 Toyota Highlander for a ticket violation, with a pursuit beginning shortly after. Following a lengthy chase at speeds over 100mph, the SUV, which had four children inside, struck a pole and crashed on the side of the road. As it spun round, a four-month infant was ejected from the vehicle. The trooper, who was unaware there were any children inside the vehicle, rushed to locate the infant. The other three children were safely removed from the mangled car. All four children survived and were treated for minor injuries. Driver Tyrice Fletcher, 28, of El Dorado, has been charged with an array of offences, including endangering the welfare of a minor.
