Hadi Alodid, a 30-year-old man from Sudan, appears in a Belfast court charged with attempted murder over a stabbing attack that triggered anti-immigrant violence in several parts of Northern Ireland.

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were called to Kinnaird Avenue in the north of the city at around 10.30pm on Monday.
