In-principle approval given to Tamil Nadu govt, but ‘nothing moving forward’, say Shipping Ministry sources

An in-principle approval has been given to the Tamil Nadu government for a greenfield mega ship-building cluster at Thoothukudi, based on the recommendation of the Directorate General of Shipping, top sources in the Shipping Ministry told The Hindu on Tuesday. But they raised concern that there was no further communication from the State government and that a DPR (Detailed Project Report) was awaited to proceed with the process.
