Trinamool Congress leader Jahangir Khan has been arrested on extortion charges. A court in Diamond Harbour has remanded him to police custody for five days. Khan was apprehended near the India-Nepal border. He had previously contested an assembly seat and disappeared before a repoll. The Calcutta High Court had earlier vacated his interim protection.
