Crews utilised two 32-metre turntable ladders to combat the fire from above, with Station Commander Wayne Bloomfield indicating it would be a “protracted incident” requiring firefighters to remain on site until the following morning. The incident caused considerable disruption to local train services, with Southeastern Rail Service diverting trains and Thameslink reporting blocked lines between London Bridge and Dartford.
