Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has criticized a military cooperation agreement between France and Greek Cyprus, saying it could undermine security and regional stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The agreement “will provide for the presence of French forces on Cypriot territory, strictly for humanitarian purposes,” according to Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.
