A strong earthquake that hit in the Gulf of America on Monday sent shockwaves hundreds of miles away into Florida, where it was felt by thousands of people.

A powerful earthquake near Cuba sent tremors across parts of Florida, with residents reporting shaking in Miami, Orlando, Fort Myers, Naples and Sarasota.
