Jaipur: Internet shutdown, heavy police deployment as JDA launches major demolition drive

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) launches a major anti-encroachment drive in the Jagatpura area as part of a road-widening project. The operation targets structures falling within the alignment of a proposed 80-foot-wide road running parallel to the railway line. Reports indicate that a mosque, two temples, a satsang bhavan and a mazar are among the structures marked for removal. To maintain law and order, internet services have been temporarily suspended across Jaipur North and East police districts, while heavy police deployment and enhanced social media monitoring remain in place.
