Rather than look after the best interests of First Super, APRA will claim in court this week that co-chairman Michael O’Connor booked a windfall for his union.

Rather than look after the best interests of First Super, APRA will claim in court this week that co-chairman Michael O’Connor booked a windfall for his union.

Michael O’Connor denies the regulator’s claim that he failed to serve as a “prudent director” while he was a senior CFMEU official and First Super board member.

APRA wants Michael O’Connor banned from other superannuation fund boards, alleging he put the interests of the CFMEU ahead of First Super’s 80,000 members.
