This week, the New York Times reported allegations of Platner's "unsettling" behavior toward women he dated, including one claim that he was physically abusive, which Platner denies.

Platner and his wife have dismissed reports he allegedly sexted other women as “gossip.”

The Maine Democrat slated to take on Sen. Susan Collins was in Washington for a number of previously scheduled meetings with senators, including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Lyndsey Fifield, who reportedly dated Platner from 2013 to 2015, accused the New York Times of twisting her stories about him.
