According to the US weather agency NOAA, solar storms are forecast for the weekend that could produce vivid auroras, or northern lights, across North America and Canada.

Some states along the northern U.S. border will have a chance to see the northern lights Wednesday night, with chances improving by Thursday night.

The northern lights may be visible in Canada and the U.S. overnight on Thursday, June 4, through Friday, June 5, after a forecast for G1 geomagnetic storming.
