The incident took place around 10 am on Thursday, with Daqamah, a Saudi national, also facing charges for possession of an offensive weapon, two counts of possession of a bladed article, and possession of Class B drugs. The victim, a campus safety officer in his 50s, remains in a stable condition in hospital, and police are providing support to his family. Daqamah has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning. Chief Superintendent Jon Groenen stated that there is no suggestion the incident is terror-related and no other suspects are being sought, with police working closely with the university.
