House Democratic leaders said they would vote down Rep. Rashida Tlaib's war powers resolution to limit US military involvement in Lebanon on Thursday, holding up the process for another several weeks.

"The fact that 'Democratic leadership' hides behind blind quotes is evidence they know how unpopular their opposition is," said one foreign policy critic.

Democratic leaders came out against the resolution before the vote, saying they favor another one introduced by Tlaib on Wednesday.
