National Donut Day 2026 will be celebrated on June 5 with free doughnuts, discounts and special promotions from major chains across the United States. The annual event, observed on the first Friday of June, was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the Donut Lassies who served soldiers during World War I. Krispy Kreme, Dunkin', Duck Donuts, 7-Eleven and several regional bakeries are offering limited-time deals to mark the occasion.
