Ahmedabad water contamination: 50 take ill with diarrhoea and vomiting, nine residential societies affected in Ghatlodia area

Residents of Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, fell ill after contaminated water from a drainage system entered their drinking supply after . Fifty people reported symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting, with eleven hospitalised. Civic officials stated a pipeline breakdown on May 30 caused the issue, which has since been repaired. Medical teams are attending to affected individuals. Local residents claim a much larger number of people were affected.
