The incident involved Patrick McCabe, father and coach of Australian player James McCabe, following a dispute over practice courts at the Edgbaston Priory Club on Monday morning. James McCabe stated on Instagram that his father was “followed, physically handled by a staff member, and left in pain afterwards”, later confirming his father went to hospital. West Midlands Police confirmed they received a report of a man being assaulted at the venue on June 1, with enquiries ongoing and no arrests made. The Lawn Tennis Association, ATP, and Edgbaston Priory Club are also conducting an investigation into the allegation, stating they will not comment further while it is ongoing.
