The council has charged e-bike operators more than £210,000 in seizure, storage, and release fees for these bikes. Of the confiscated e-bikes, Lime accounts for the majority with 1,624, followed by Forest with 787, while Voi and Bolt had 61 and 44 seized respectively. Lime and Forest have since signed agreements with the council, restricting their users to parking in 245 designated spaces within the borough. A council representative emphasised that the crackdown aims to ensure safe and accessible streets, urging operators to encourage considerate rider behaviour to prevent further action.
